Pneumococcal injection

Pneumococci are bacteria that can make you very sick in old age. People between the ages of 74and 78  and age 60 this year have received an invitation for this injection If you need both injections, you will receive the flu injection in your left arm and the pneumococcal injection in your right arm.

What does the pneumococcal injection do?
The injection makes it less likely that you will get sick with pneumococci. You are less likely to get pneumonia.
Are there any side effects?
Your arm may hurt after the injection and be a little red and thick. This usually disappears after a few days.
You may feel less well for a few days after the injection. Your body builds up resistance to the pneumococci

We ask you:

Do not come if you have a fever
Do not come if you have already received this injection, for example in the hospital.
Do not come if you are currently receiving or have had chemotherapy within the last 3 months.
