Ultrasound/sonography at your GP

You must first be assessed by a doctor before an ultrasound examination can be scheduled. Ultrasound examination at the GP is reimbursed by the basic insurance. You do not have to claim your deductible.

For an upper-abdominal ultrasound: you are not allowed to eat or drink three hours in advance.

You need an empty urinebladder for an endovaginal ultrasound assesment.

You need a full urinebladder for an abdominal ultrasound assesment.
